Prolia®: Every Six Month Injections for Osteoporosis
With an estimated 50-percent of post-menopausal women suffering osteoporosis-related skeletal fractures during their lifetimes, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, especially for women, is critical for long-term health.
As a convenient osteoporosis treatment option, IVNY now offers every sixth month Prolia® injections for patients with osteoporosis who have a high risk of skeletal fractures and for those who cannot tolerate other osteoporosis medications. While some common osteoporosis treatments require daily, weekly, or monthly doses, Prolia® offers a more efficient alternative with a single injection every six months.
Prolia® is not a bisphosphonate medication, and works with the body’s immune system to inhibit the cells responsible for reducing bone mass. This results in improved bone strength, and an increase in bone mass preventing skeletal fractures.
At IVNY, patients receive subcutaneous Prolia® injections in our private infusion treatment center supervised by nurse practitioners and certified registered nurses specializing in IV therapy.
For busy New Yorkers, IVNY offers flexible infusion treatment scheduling, including days, evenings, and weekends. IVNY accepts all insurance plans with out-of-network benefits, and non-HMO Medicare plans. For more information, visit www.treatmentnyc.com or call 212-753-8700, and we will be happy to assist you.
